TripToes: TripAdvisor Post-Trip Retention Challenge
Travel has always been close to my heart. From spontaneous weekend getaways to immersive explorations of culturally rich states like Kerala, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir, I’ve always believed that the true essence of travel lies beyond just checking off tourist spots—it’s about experiencing the soul of a place. I still remember a time when trip planning was handled entirely by travel agents. Back then, our journeys were rigid, often missing out on the local charm and hidden gems. That changed with platforms like TripAdvisor and MakeMyTrip, which empowered travelers to take control, explore on their own terms, and craft more personal, authentic experiences. But here’s the thing: people don’t stop loving travel after the trip ends—they just stop thinking about the app. The emotional afterglow of a journey is incredibly powerful. And that’s exactly where I see an opportunity for TripAdvisor to evolve—from being just a planning tool to becoming a lifelong travel companion. By tapping into the post-trip phase—full of reflection, nostalgia, and inspiration—we can create something meaningful that keeps travelers engaged long after they’ve returned home.
